JURNAL LABUAN BAJO | OPINI – Culture is the heritage of values, beliefs, traditions, and practices held and preserved by a society (UNESCO, 2002). According to UNESCO, culture encompasses aspects of life including art, architecture, language, and spiritual beliefs.

Culture plays a significant role in the identity of a nation and is an invaluable source of intellectual wealth. For example, in Indonesian culture, various traditions such as customary ceremonies, regional dances, and local handicrafts are part of the nation’s identity and cultural richness.

The economy is the study of how societies allocate limited or scarce resources to meet their needs and desires (Investopedia, n.d.). In the context of the cultural tourism economy, this includes the production of various types of tourism goods and services, distribution of information about cultural tourist sites, and consumption by tourists.
